RACE-Report

In nice weather with temperatures up to 20°C, we first broke in the rented race engine and then tested the various gear ratios. We weren’t familiar with this engine, so we ran a few tests.
Surprisingly, the grip on the track was already very good, and we had to reduce the grip on the chassis.
As a result, I was able to take a lot of weight off the chassis, and the lap times were already quite good.

On Saturday, the weather was marked by low-lying fog, and it wasn’t quite as warm until lunch time.
There were a lot of drivers (>40 pilots) on the track at any given time.
However, we had great difficulty matching the lap times from the previous day, which led us to make numerous changes and tests. Due to major adjustments, we were also unable to complete all of our practice sessions.
It wasn’t until the final stint, with all the adjustments in place, that our lap times improved again. This was thanks to the assistance of the Borsch Racing Team.

It’s race day again, and it’s already a bit cooler. Early this morning, it was still 16°C. By noon, it was finally sunny with a temperature of 20°C. There were significantly less drivers on site than there were yesterday during free practice. After yesterday’s less-than-successful day, we finalized today’s race setup yesterday.
During Warm-up, our tire pressure was way too high, and we couldn't set a good lap time. We also didn't use any new tires.
Qualifying lasted 10 minutes, and we went out right at the start. That’s because no driver waits around here to look after their tires—you have to set a good lap time right from the start. A very good lap time was set on the 4th lap, but the best one was achieved on the 12th of 14th laps.
In the first Heat once again, I got off to a great start and was already in 4th place by the 3rd lap. I was able to hold onto that position until the end, with a significant lead over 5th place. However, the two drivers ahead of me were seniors. So I secured the victory in the junior category.
In the Final, I started from P4 and was on the outside. Once again, I was able to move up to 3rd place after the first turn. In turn 8, I tried to attack the driver in 2nd place, but ended up hitting the back of his car. I stayed right behind him until the 9th curve, but couldn’t pass him. However, the driver in 4th place caught up and kept trying to pass me. With three laps to go, he tried to force his way in, which almost caused both of us to go off the track. Thanks to my experience, I was able to hold my position and crossed the finish line in 3rd place overall and 1st in the junior category. A very successful race.
